You said you were working on this whole code of contact thing

Any progress?

What have you got so far?

[So that would be a no re: the hello.]

You could take it to her for input, but you'll want to put the whole thing on the network for everyone to weigh in on. No one's in charge of anything except in name so if you want to get anything done its got to be by consensus

I wouldn't leave it opened ended though or they'll talk it to death. Post it with a proposed time frame for implementation or something

Those these are all just suggestions of course

Everyone's a nobody

But sure, I'll take a look

Well they're decent bare bones in any case. Something more official will have to be written up re: point six, but there's probably not much point in that until a real form of leadership rears its head

If you like I can talk to Sofiya Karimov about this as well - I can forward a copy along and see what she thinks. Doesn't hurt to have as few pairs of eyes on this thing and she's a lawyer

[That last bit about Sonya being a lawyer is a bit of a joke - not because she isn't bang on with her job, but more that probably everyone in their dog knows as much after what happened last month.]

Will do. I'll forward her notes once I've got them

[And after he's sanitized them a bit, as he suspects Sonya's response is going to be as curse riddled as anything else she puts out and the last thing he wants to do is scare off a well-meaning attempt at...well whatever this is.]

I'm not surprised. Something like half the transport population is 18 or below. Can't really expect them to be savvy to this kind of thing

[Too bad that's exactly what they need.]

More reason to get some kind of council in place. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for letting the lot of us run about doing whatever we goddamn please on a day to day basis, but without a system to hold people accountable when they cross a line we're all proper fucked

If that much hasn't already been made painfully obvious
alittlesweptup: (whoops)

[personal profile] alittlesweptup 2014-01-08 08:11 am (UTC)(link)
As far as I'm concerned, it seems like most people seem to think some kind of council is a good thing. It just needs a few more guidelines to focus it and then nominations and voting and all that painful bureaucratic rubbish

[Christ, he's boring himself.]

But making it an optional thing when its presented to the community isn't a smart move; it'll get talked over and die in the house (so to speak). Have to ask for nominations instead of making it a delicate 'hey there lads and ladies, we were thinking possibly we might do this or that - what do you think?'. Needs to be more 'We're doing this. If you want say in it, talk now or forever hold your peace'

Good. Let me know how it goes

[As this is clearly his business, right?]
